Sailing a Monomoy on Baldwin Bay

oil on canvas, (24 x 30)

When I lived in Baldwin, I was a member of the Baldwin Bay Colony Rowers. Hearing those eight oars slap the water in unison as the coxswain led us around Baldwin Bay was quite a rush. I loved being on the water without motor power. Doc Schoen, who was wheelchair bound, was responsible for starting up the rowing club. On this day, I had the thrill of going out in the Monomoy under sail with Doc and his family.
